Statement Regarding Animal Control Services

Eagle PD

On behalf of the Town of Eagle, Eagle County Animal Services has stepped-up patrols in areas of Eagle with known animal complaints.  There have been animal bites reported in Eagle, due to unleashed dogs in public areas. Issues with dogs harassing wildlife and neighbors have also been reported. An animal control officer was also charged by an unleashed dog.  More people are using public recreation paths and with warmer weather, we want to make this a safe and enjoyable experience for all. On behalf of the Town of Eagle, Eagle County Animal Services will issue a fine for the more egregious “dog at large” and off-leash offenders. The Eagle Police Department and the Town of Eagle have not implemented a “zero tolerance” approach. Animal Services will continue to use the education and warning campaign, which they have relied upon for the past few years, however citations may be issued at any time there is a violation.
