REMINDER: Be Bear Aware! Over the last several week's Eagle Police Department has taken calls about bears being spotted in local neighborhoods causing damage to trash cans and bird feeders.

During bear season, please follow the Five Commitments of Coexisting with Bears in Eagle:

1. Secure your trash in an enclosed area. If you do not have a garage, please keep trash inside your home until trash day. Clean your trash can regularly.
2. Remove bird feeders.
3. Keep grills clean and grease free.
4. Bring your pets and pet food in at night.
5. Lock your doors at night.

Report bear sightings to the Sylvan Lake State Park Office at (970) 328-2021 during business hours (M-F 8 am-5 pm). For after-hours bear sightings, call Colorado State Patrol at (303) 239-4501.
