Eagle County Historical Society

The Eagle County Historical Society is dedicated to the maintenance, publication and education regarding the local history of our county. This area has a rich history associated with all that makes the West the West. Native American culture, mining, agriculture, ranching and recreation all have played important roles in our past. They strive to preserve and record that history through our programs of education, publishing and maintenance of a local history museum.

The Historical Society operates the Chambers' Park Local Historical Museum (open summer months). The Museum serves both the drop-in traveling visitors attracted by the Visitor's Center, as well as the residents and students of Eagle County. The Museum provides an understanding and appreciation of the history of the Eagle County region and the people who have lived here. It collects, preserves, interprets, and exhibits artifacts that illustrate local history and the past ways of life in the Eagle County region.
