Community Impact Award


Congratulations Becky Burgess as the Town of Eagle’s 2025 Community Impact Award Winner. We are deeply grateful for the time, energy, and heart you’ve invested in creating a positive impact. We celebrate you and your outstanding contributions, and we’re honored to recognize your work.

While anticipating the opening of a Vail Valley Wellness location in downtown Eagle, Becky set a goal to build meaningful connections and to create charming, memorable events for the community to enjoy. She began by spearheading Eagle Rising, a grassroots organization designed to help female business owners connect with one another.

Given Eagle’s strong sense of family and community, Becky organized free family-friendly events in downtown Eagle. These events were intended to evoke a sense of nostalgia and help create lasting memories for future generations. Some of the events included a sidewalk chalk competition, Halloween decorating contest, and a month long pop-up putt-putt golf course where the Everything Store once stood. The energy Becky has brought to downtown Eagle is both refreshing and inspiring!

The award recognizes an Eagle individual, business, or organization that is making a tangible impact on the community. The recipient is someone who is working to make Eagle a better place to live, work, and play and represents the town’s creativity, resourcefulness, and potential. 

Former mayor Yuri Kostick instituted the annual Community Impact Award program in 2014. The first Community Impact Award recipients were Scott Turnipseed and Chris Cook for their efforts to bring the Colorado High School Cycling League state championship race to Eagle in 2013. That event brought well over 1,000 guests to town on a weekend in October and helped put Eagle on the map as a mountain biking and outdoor adventure destination.
