Funding Opportunities for Sustainability
Sustainability Funding Opportunities - 2027
Stay tuned for the 2027 sustainability project funding application.
Last year, the Town Council allocated $15,000 to community projects that maximize impact, innovation, and community involvement to accelerate progress towards the net zero targets. The Adam Palmer Sustainability Fund boosted this amount to $34,000 total and will be managing the disbursement of funds.
Community groups and organizations are invited to apply for funding to support projects that align with the town's net zero goals and that will have a tangible impact on reducing greenhouse gas emissions within the Town of Eagle.
- Applications will be submitted via the Palmer Fund website.
- Please reach out to Kira Koppel, Sustainability Specialist at the Town of Eagle, at kira.koppel@townofeagle.org with any questions.

Congratulations to our 2026 funding recipients!
Four projects were awarded community sustainability funding in 2026. These projects are making strides in our goals to reduce pollution, conserve resources and protect our town for years to come.
Funding was used to support 4 projects:
- Eagle Valley Elementary School Community Garden
- Eagle Valley Elementary School was awarded $2,075 to support the school's garden and help it transition into a self-sustaining, student-led outdoor classroom.
- Eagle Valley Elementary School Waste Diversion
- Eagle Valley Elementary School was awarded $6,000 to improve waste diversion on site. They will purchase some Terracycle boxes to recycle common items that cannot be accepted by the Town's single stream recycling, like snack wrappers and plastic bags, and will track their waste diversion efforts.
- Mountain Tots Energy Efficient Appliances
- Mountain Tots will be installing high-efficiency appliances at their new location, including an induction stove. Their new facility will be all-electric and water-wise.
- Boosting Energy Efficiency Rebates
- Walking Mountains was awarded $20,000 to boost the number of energy efficiency and renewable energy rebates they are able to offer to Eagle residents this year. These funds can reduce the costs of installing a heat pump, solar PV, batteries, or even an electric vehicle purchase. See here for rebate details.

Congratulations to our 2025 funding recipients!
Two projects were awarded community sustainability funding in September 2025. These projects are making strides in our goals to reduce pollution, conserve resources and protect our town for years to come.
Funding was used to support 2 projects:
- Increasing Curbside Organics
- Shawn Bruckman, with Pedogenic Solutions LLC, was awarded $15,000 to conduct a baseline assessment of curbside compost bin use and an engagement campaign to help you get more organics into your bin. This project will turn waste into resources and may just put some finished compost into your hands for your garden beds.
- Increasing Energy Efficiency Rebates
- Nikki Maline, with Walking Mountains, was awarded $11,000 to boost the number of energy efficiency and renewable energy rebates they are able to offer to Eagle residents this year. These funds can reduce the costs of installing a heat pump, solar PV, batteries, or even an electric vehicle purchase. See here for rebate details.
