Sylvan Lake Road Pedestrian Improvements Project
Eagle, CO - The Sylvan Lake Road Pedestrian Improvements Project is being constructed to provide traffic calming and improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists. Funding for the Project is a 50/50 matching CDOT Grant. The improvement area stretches from Gamble Street to Eagle Ranch Road and consists of the following components:
- New Sidewalk between MacDonald and Capitol Streets where no sidewalk currently exists
- Intersection Improvements, including Curb Extensions and Flashing Crosswalk Beacons at the Capitol Street and Eagle Ranch Road intersections to provide Traffic Calming and reduce the distance pedestrians must travel at crossings
- Replacement of Concrete Curb Ramps to achieve ADA Compliance
- Relocated Stormdrain Infrastructure
- Dedicated Bicycle Lanes separate from Vehicle Travel Lanes
- Asphalt Overlay and Pavement Marking
The proposed work is scheduled to begin April 1, 2025 and an approximate four-month construction period is anticipated with completion in early August, 2025. The work will require periodic lane shifts although vehicle travel will be maintained in both directions. Town Staff will continue to provide project information and updates as the work progresses.
