Eagle Skate Park Design Project
The Town of Eagle received a $30,000 grant from Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) to design a skate park at the Haymaker Trailhead Campus, part of the site's Master Plan.
This year, in partnership with Mountain Recreation, the Town of Eagle has hired American Ramp Company (ARC) to lead the design effort. ARC began with a site review and discussions with staff about the goals of the project. Next, ARC hosted an online community survey to determine the types of elements the community valued most.
In June, based on the community input, ARC and town and Mountain Recreation staff hosted a community meeting at the Eagle Pool and Ice Rink where these initial design concepts were revealed. Community members were invited to provide additional feedback, vote on the park elements most important to them and ask questions.
ARC is now working on final design concepts. The final design will have an option to build the skate park in phases as funding becomes available. Currently, the Town and Mountain Recreation do not have dedicated funding for construction of the skate park. The town will be working on capital project priorities and grant opportunities later this year in order to determine a construction timeline for the project.
Below is a revised proposed location that differs from the location in the Master Plan. This new location would allow for easier access from the parking lot and avoid placing a skate park in the middle of other bike amenities. Additionally, this location would reduce the amount of dust and dirt that blows through the site and would impact the skate surface in the original site location.
