Days are getting longer; the sun is warming and it's time to get outside. So, let's share our beautiful outdoor places with our distinguished local herds that are down from the mountaintops and in the forefront of our minds. As well as being our backyard, the Town of Eagle is a critical winter habitat for these precious animals.
The town and its partners are continuing their initiative to protect local elk and deer populations and doing it with big prizes and a little flair. Eagle residents are encouraged to take a pledge to protect wildlife through three easy-to-follow behaviors: respecting trail closures, leashing dogs, and giving wildlife space. Those who take the pledge will be entered to win one of ten $100 gift cards to local Eagle restaurants. We hope by getting the community involved, we'll foster interest in preserving wildlife, promote education, and create a community buy-in to help protect our herds. If we can all encourage small behavior changes, we can have a large impact.
