Eagle Valley Wildland, in partnership with the Town of Eagle Open Space, Eagle River Fire Protection District and Colorado Parks and Wildlife, will continue prescribed fire operations in Eagle April 15-19.
Weather permitting, these burns will target areas with tall grass and accumulated wildfire fuel. Residents are advised the smoke is from controlled burning and should not be reported to 911 unless there is an emergency.
Prescribed burns are a crucial land management tool for wildfire prevention. They help improve reducing wildfire risk while having some benefits for ecosystem management.
