The town of Eagle public works department will begin its spring hydrant flushing process starting on Monday, April 22.
The flushing operations will take place between 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. from Monday through Friday, weather permitting. The schedule is outlined as follows:
- Week of April 22: Fairgrounds Rd. and the Terrace neighborhood
- Week of April 29: Downtown Eagle
- Week of May 6: Chambers Ave. Market St., the Bluffs neighborhood and the Upper Eby Creek area
- Week of May 13: Eagle Ranch area
Residents are advised that during the hydrant flushing, there may be a temporary drop in water pressure or a slight discoloration in tap water. The discoloration is harmless and typically resolves within 10-20 minutes by running cold water only until the water clears. If the discoloration persists, contact the town at 970-328-6354 or Public Works at 970-328-6678. Residents are cautioned against doing laundry during this period, particularly with hot water, to prevent staining of clothing.
The town conducts inspections and flushes different zones to ensure proper valve operation and to remove sediments from the system.
